Consider Your Home's Style

When choosing the perfect front door color for your home, it is important to consider the style of your home. Each style has its own trends and colors that are most popular. Whether you prefer a classic look or want to stay on trend with the latest color choices, you can easily find the right hue for your home.

For traditional homes, warm colors such as navy blue, hunter green, and rich reds are always a great option. These hues are timeless and will never go out of style. If you have a more modern home, light blues, grays, and whites are great for creating a clean, crisp look. For a more eclectic home, opt for bolder colors such as bright yellow, teal, and even pink.

The color of your front door should complement your home’s overall design. It should also be inviting to visitors while still representing your personal style. Take the time to browse through various front door colors and find one that works best with your home. With the right choice, you’ll have a beautiful new entryway that will turn heads and last for years to come.

Consider The Colors Of Your Trim And Shutters

When it comes to choosing the perfect front door color for your home, it's important to consider the colors of your trim and shutters. These architectural features are often the first things that people notice when they look at a house, so you want to make sure that your front door color complements them.

If your trim and shutters are white, then adding a bold colored front door can create a striking contrast and help draw attention to your entrance. Alternatively, if your trim and shutters are dark in color, you might want to opt for a lighter shade of door paint to keep the overall look balanced.

No matter what color you choose for your front door, you can always find ways to make it stand out by adding interesting details such as decorative hardware or an eye-catching wreath. With so many options available, it’s easy to find the perfect front door color to suit your home and make a great first impression!

Consider Your Neighborhood

If you live in Cleveland, Ohio, there are some key factors to consider when choosing a front door color for your home. To start, take a look at the colors of other homes in your neighborhood. The colors you choose should blend in with the other houses and not be too jarring or eye-catching.

In Cleveland, you’ll find a variety of colors used for front doors. Some of the most popular hues include muted shades of gray, blue, green, and brown. These colors help to create a subtle and natural look that is timeless and appealing.

When it comes to finding the perfect color for your front door, don’t be afraid to experiment! Take the time to explore different shades and finishes until you find the one that best compliments your home and fits your style. With so many options to choose from, you’re sure to find something that looks great and lasts for years to come.

The Best Tips To Clean Your Wooden Kitchen Cabinets

Cabinets are the face of any room in your house, and they can be the first impression guests get when they visit. A quality paint job for your cabinets is a worthy investment that will last for years and years if done right. However, in order to keep your cabinets looking just as beautiful as the day they were painted, you have to do a good job of keeping them clean.

In this blog, professional Ohio painting contractor, Curb Appeal will guide you on how to keep your cabinets clean.

Now, let’s get into it!

Be Gentle When Cleaning Your Wooden Kitchen Cabinets

Between the many splatters, spills, and grimy fingerprints, you might be surprised to find how much of this buildup lingers and further collects dust and grime. Over time, safely removing this buildup can become more difficult, especially when harsher cleaning materials can damage the paint on your cabinets.

So when it comes time to clean your painted cabinets, keep in mind that you will need to be very careful when cleaning your kitchen cabinets.

How Often Should I Clean My Painted Kitchen Cabinets?

Ideally, your kitchen cabinets should be wiped down every week or two. But, you may need to clean your cabinets more often depending on how much you use them. So, the more often you wipe down your cabinets, the less grease and hard-to-remove stains build up. With regular cleaning, you prevent unwanted dirt, bacteria, and grease. And for painted cabinets, regular cleaning will help extend their coat and overall lifespan.

How To Clean Your Painted Wood Cabinets

When it comes to cleaning your painted wood cabinets, you need to be mindful of the damage that excessive water and harsh abrasives can do to the wood and paint. So, there are a few different gentle cleaning methods you can try, depending on the amount of dirt and grease buildup. These various methods include:

  • For light splatters and dust: Use a damp microfiber cloth to carefully wipe down your cabinets. Then, use another cloth or towel to dry them off.

  • For some grease and grime buildup: Use dish soap and warm water to make a slightly sudsy mix for a cleaning solution. Take a soft cloth and dip into this mix (be careful not to over soak your cloth), then use it to remove the grease from your cabinets with circular motions. Once you’ve worked out the grease, take another cloth and use non soapy water to remove any remaining suds or spots. Wipe the cabinets dry.

  • For heavier grease and stains: Use a mix of vinegar (1 cup), warm water (2 cups), and baking soda (1 tablespoon) as a cleaning solution (tip: add a small amount of dish soap for extra-strength). Take a soft cloth, dip into this mix, and work out the heavier grease and stained areas of your cabinets. Or, use a sprayable solution of vinegar and water, and let it sit on the heavier grease stains for a few minutes before cleaning them off. Once finished, take another cloth and use non soapy water to remove any residue. Wipe the cabinets dry.

You can also use paint-safe cleaners if the natural solutions listed above aren’t cutting the grease—just make sure to spot-test before you apply the cleaner to your whole cabinet. But with more frequent cleaning, you can avoid a more heavy-duty clean, which can be harsh against your painted cabinets.
